If you’re in continuing education or community spaces with heavy foot traffic, it’s likely you’re stowing your backpacks and laptops under desks or conference tables to avoid tripping hazards. Bag Hooks are nothing revolutionary and there’s quite a few on Thingiverse and STL sharing sites, but I have yet to see a heavy duty bag hook. Not to mention it’s a gnarly shape that catches quite a few eyes and gets the dialog going on additive manufacturing.

This bag hook accommodates table thicknesses of 0.75"-1.75". While there is a fair amount of flex under load, I have yet to exceed 60lbs (27kg) with CF reinforcement. If your bag weighs more than 60lbs, perhaps it belongs on the ground - or on wheels!

This full-sized, anatomically-correct 6-piece female pelvis model includes the sacrum, 5th lumbar vertebrae, left and right hemipelvis, and proximal portions of the left and right femur. An optional stand base is also provided.

To assemble you will need 16 1/4” x 1/8” strong cylindrical neodymium magnets. To use the display base, you will also need an 8” section of ¼” square keystock.
Here are considerations for assembly:
•	Before inserting magnets, clean out the magnet anchors with a 1/4” drill bit to remove any imperfections, allowing the magnets to sit properly.
•	Ensure that you insert magnets with polarity oriented to allow proper connection of bones.
•	You may need to use glue to secure some of the magnets in place. CA glue works well.
Except for the sacrum, all bones are oriented in reasonable positions for printing.
The sacrum is a very difficult bone to print no matter how it is oriented, so you will need to position this according to your experience, preferences, and set-up. The bone pictured in the model was printed upside down, with ample support at the bottom.
Every attempt has been made to maintain anatomical correctness; however, the following small modifications were necessary to optimize the files for 3D printing:
•	Some areas of bone have been thickened to support the magnet anchors.
•	Thin parts of the medial sacral crest have been thickened or removed to improve printing strength and quality.
•	With the exception of a few centimeters at the top and bottom, the spinal canal and the complex tunnels of the cauda equina have been filled in to allow for better printing strength and quality. 
Development of this model was initiated and guided by Health Allies, a small regional Osteopathy clinic in Orange NSW, Australia with 4 practicing Osteopaths from various Universities across Australia. The model will be used for visual learning purposes, from patient education in the clinic, to assisting with continuing learning with other medical professionals.

6-Piece Magnetic Female Pelvis Model

This 16-piece, full-sized anatomical model shows the position of the brachial plexus nerves relative to surrounding bones, muscles, and arteries. See here for video: https://youtu.be/Uol33HA0QOc 

The brachial plexus is a network of nerves in the shoulder that carries movement and sensory signals from the spinal cord to the arms and hands. This model is designed for use as a clinical education tool, specifically for ultrasound guided nerve blocks and anesthesia for surgery.

The model can be used upright or in supine. You can print either shoulder or both. Use different coloured filament to emphasis structures.

The “Brachial Plexus” includes all roots, trunks, divisions, cords and branches, as well as proximal portions of the suprascapular and long thoracic nerve. The phrenic nerve is included as well, not because it is a part of the brachial plexus, but because it is a structure to identify and avoid when doing nerve blocks or surgery in this area.

The main structural pieces are attached with magnets. To assemble both sides with magnets, you will need 36   1/4” x 1/8” (6mm x 3mm) cylindrical neodymium magnets. www.kjmagnetics.com is a good source of magnets. Pieces can be glued together for permanent attachment.

The roots of the brachial plexus and phrenic nerve are attached via insertion holes in the intervertebral foramen. The brachial plexus and subclavian/axillary artery are also held in place by the clavicle.

The following pieces form the structural base:

•	Spine Base 
•	Right and/or Left Scapula Rhomboid Base 
•	Sternum Rib Base 
•	Right and/or Left Clavicle

The follow pieces are non-structural. Print the pieces and sides that you need.:

•	Head of Humerus
•	Anterior Scalene
•	Brachial Plexus
•	Phrenic Nerve
•	Subclavian/Axillary Artery

This is an advanced print requiring knowledge in setting up supports and post-print cleanup.

The “Spine Base” and “Scapula Rhomboid Bases” should be printed as provided. The remaining files are in a “suggested orientation,” you may need to reorient and prepare them according to your preferences, equipment, and skill level. In general, try to orient outer surfaces upwards so that the surfaces in contact with support structures are less visible in the final model. 

For pieces with contoured bottom surfaces and hard-to-reach support areas, try raising the model a few millimeters off the build plate and using “tree supports.”

Here are considerations for assembly:

Every attempt has been made to maintain anatomical correctness; however, the following small modifications were necessary to optimize the files for 3D printing:
•	Magnet anchors have been added to allow insertion of magnets.
•	Some areas of bone have been thickened to support the magnet anchors and add strength
•	A portion of the posterior spine of the scapula has been enlarged to support the model in supine.
•	All neural structures have been thickened for strength and to facilitate printing.
•	The brachial plexus has been reshaped in some areas to allow for ease of printing and assembly. These alterations are within the range of normal anatomical variation. 
•	Anterior scalene is positioned slightly anterior to create more space in the interscalene triangle.
•	Groves have been added on the first ribs to facilitate proper positioning of the subclavian artery.

First off may I apologise for deleting the previous version but the files here at Thangs got a bit messy.
I have been kit bashing an [Arduino Uno](https://www.arduino.cc/) Lab/Work Station/Learning Station that I think Gridfinity would be fantastic for especial as I am constricted to an [Ender 5 Pro](https://bit.ly/3q3P86J) build plate of 220 x 220 x 300, and I say that tongue in cheek, build plate. 
Also, I must declare that I have been teaching myself how to use all the software from scratch to get the job done, so some of the models are a little scruffy because I couldn’t get them finished to a professional finish.  This is apparent in the [Fusion 360](https://bit.ly/3wPmeLf) and [Sketchup](https://bit.ly/3cCXMGa) models and the problems I had around the Mesh etc. But I will get there.
I will where possible post the models in three formats, STL, Sketchup and F360 files.

All holes to accept various components may well need reaming out as apparently 3D Printers don’t replicate holes to the exact dimensions in the design, well in my case that is true.
Now let us get onto the build….
I started originally with [TAYLOR LOYKASEK's](https://bit.ly/3PDNxQh) idea and designed version 1.  This is [Taylor's version](https://bit.ly/3z95m2r ). This was too big for the Ender 5 Pro.  If memory serves me right just the top section was due to take 1 day and 9 hours to print. 
The various plates in the parts list were from the original designer of #Gridfinity [Zach Freedman](https://zackfreedman.com/) of [Voidstar Lab](https://www.youtube.com/c/ZackFreedman) on [YouTube](https://bit.ly/3zAGxhr). Having found Gridfinity and loved his idea and energy, plus he's bit nuts I felt it was a good sign.
[Thangs](https://thangs.com/
) is the home of Gridfinity Plates and adapters and many other fun, mad, and bad ideas can be found [here](https://bit.ly/3PUEmur).  These parts are fantastic because in the free version of  Fusion 360 (F360) you can adjust the whole thing by just amending a few numbers in the parameters. Some people use [Openscad](https://openscad.org/
) who are creating all kinds of parametric, I believe, ways of amending most of the basic Gridfinity elements which can be amended to your desire.
Anyway, back to the Arduino Uno (Work/Learner/Education Station) or Lab as I am now going to refer to this design.
The design of the Top Level of the Lab v is now complete…..ish. Are they ever finished?
I have broken it into 3 main parts, this is mainly because of print times and the constraints of the Ender 5 Pro build plate previously mentioned. I then use [Cura ](https://ultimaker.com/software/ultimaker-cura
)as my slicer.
Below are the various parts and their components. If you find any missing let me know and I’ll get them up ASAP.  The print time for this project is loooooooong, so don’t expect it to be a quick job.

Gridfinity-Arduino-Uno-Lab-Top Plate
This consists of 

1.	1x 5x5 Gridfinity Adapter v10
2.	1x Arduino Uno & LCD Sect v10
3.	8x Pegs/Legs/Posts

These present the Arduino Uno and the LCD to the front at a 45-degree angle.  They have M3 sized holes for heat press threaded inserts as the original design were slightly weakened by the screws being inserted. 

I need to purchase a suitable soldering Iron and [Turmberg3D - 5 x soldering iron melting aid](https://amzn.to/3AzhZok
) for threaded inserts/melting nuts.  But at this time funds are a bit tight so I will use my old iron.

The are 5 different Pegs, 01-05.  The current design has square lugs on the base so that they can be glued in straight, and I have found that being square they are slightly more accurate.  These are printed separately on their backs with a triangular infill of 50% and tree supports. 
The tray design has been changed also.  The Gridfinity-5x5-Adapter-v10 now has 6 locations for the Jumper Wire Comb.  I will be using All 6 but that is a decision that each person can make themselves.
This was because I found the original small tray was hidden behind the Jumper Wire Comb and slightly awkward to get to.  Also, longer Jumper Wires do interfere with anything in the tray.  
By having the two trays (Tray-Large- v10 & 1x Tray-2+1-v10) you can decide whether you want to have two [breadboards](https://amzn.to/3egJ886) or one.  I have found that currently I only need 1 Breadboard-x1-165 x 53.  But if you prefer the original Breadboard-x2-165x53 v10 design then I have included that in the files.

HIV & Coronavirus are both... VIRUSES. Which both have protein coat or "spikes" for cell binding - mine just closely resembles HIV *sigh*. But really though, the structure here is similar to most viruses - so call it whatever you like :)

I’ve always been a fan of visual aids for education, especially when it can be hands on. Referencing images of the virus from the CDC I've created a 3D interpretation of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). This model can be printed on both FDM and SLA printers.

This dynamic shoulder rotator cuff model is designed specifically to simulate shoulder dislocations and treatments but it can be used for a range of clinical education applications.

In this model, the humerus is held in place by a series of elastic cords that simulate the pull of rotator cuff muscles and ligaments. Tension on the elastics can be adjusted to simulate variability in rotator cuff integrity and support around the glenohumeral joint.

The six anchor points between the scapular assembly and head of humerus represent the major components of the rotator cuff (subscapularis, infraspinatus, supraspinatus, teres minor, and approximations of the anterior and posterior glenohumeral ligaments)

Assembly requires six M6 barrel adjustors and approximately 1m of elastic cord or strap. Additionally, you may choose to use crimps to secure the ends of the elastic.

The M6 barrel adjustors are commonly used in bicycles to adjust cable tension of gear derailleurs. They can be purchased from a bike store or online.

This model shown uses two types of elastic, 1/4” (6mm) wide elastic band, and 1/8” (3mm) diameter elastic cord. While both will work fine, the cord is easier to work with during assembly.

Print the head and shaft of humerus as oriented. Print the scapular assembly as oriented but raise it above the surface of the bed approximately 3mm and build supports up to bottom surfaces and overhangs. It is important that the glenoid surface is oriented upwards so that it prints cleanly.

To assemble, begin by passing the first elastic through a small hole in the head of the humerus. Pull it out the large bottom hole and crimp or tie a knot so that the end does not pass back out through the hole. Next, thread the other end of the elastic through the appropriate hole in the scapular assembly and then through a barrel adjuster. Determine what length of elastic achieves the desirable amount of tension and trim the elastic to the appropriate length. Tie or crimp the end of the elastic so that it sits inside the end of the barrel adjuster. Repeat with each elastic. 

Once the elastics are in place, insert the shaft of the humerus into the bottom of the head of the humerus. The fit is intentionally tight, so you may have to gently file off the contact surfaces until you are able to insert it in securely.

This model was done in collaboration with Richmond Rescue in Vermont, USA, for use in their training programs. It is intended to support free and accessible open-source learning.

Gear Print In Place Pencil Spinner - BackToSchool

This art project is a response to the May 2022 report by Amnesty International that found and documented evidence of war crimes committed by Russian troops during the invasion of Ukraine. 

It is a reflection on breath, bodies, and the fragility of international agreements such as the UN Declaration of Human Rights.

This is an advanced project to print and prepare.

Printing

Files should be printed with a 0.4mm nozzle in order for text to be properly printed. Try to position objects with text facing up or to the side so that the text does not create any overhangs. Overall, some of the objects will need a large amount of support.

Printed pieces will likely need some sanding and smoothing.

Preparing

The parts in the model pictured are connected by two twists strands of 20-gauge wire anchored in place with CA glue. 

Achieving proper relative placement of the bones is important. One way to determine the required lengths of wires is to import the “Display Only” file in to an stl editing program like Meshmixer and measure the distance between points.

Display

Do you love pineapples, the delicious and tropical fruit? Do you want to have a fun and cool accessory for your pencil? Then you need the Pineapple Pencil Spinner, a 3D printable model that lets you create your own custom pencil topper in the shape of a pineapple that can also spin like a fidget spinner.

This pencil topper is a 3D model of a pineapple that can rotate on the central axis and attach to the pencil by a hole. It is designed to be easy to print, it does not need supports, you just have to print the pineapple and then the central axis separately. When the central axis reaches layer 181 or 36.2mm in height, you have to stop printing and add the pineapple, from there you can continue printing and we get the pineapple to rotate along the axis. You can print the pineapple in yellow and the stem in green so that it is as similar to a real one.

Pineapple Pencil Spinner - BackToSchool

The Original ChalkGripz is a fast and easy 3D print for 23mm round chalk sizes but an easy re-size in your slicer and it fits ANY round chalk!  Need some round chalk?  I recommend https://amzn.to/3L0bDF7 for a HUGE assortment of colors. 

ChalkGripz are the over engineered chalk holder design for children of all ages.  

Chalk simply inserts into the ChalkGripz and then you can use it like a pencil.  Small hands will love the soft round edges that allow you to get a good grip on the chalk without getting your hands dirty. 

Each grip uses pressure and small Gripz inside the model that grip the chalk with ease.  

A round hole in the bottom allows you to easily push out any remaining chalk. 

One print that you will use 5 walls/perimeters with 20% gyroid infill.  Use a .2 layer height for a faster print.  Also use inside to outside wall ordering to have better overhangs on the bottom. 

This prints in about an 1.25 hours with Klipper.
