This tree prints-in-place with a planetary gear on the bottom.  When you hold the top of the pot and spin the bottom, the tree rotates at three times the speed in the opposite direction. 

The tree is hollow, at 100% its only weighs 25g. I did dual colors with a manual filament swap at layer height. 

**Print Settings**
Print at 100% scale or between 130-150%, with a .4mm nozzle. Don’t scale in-between, if you print it larger than 150%. If you scale too much there could be too much clearance. Scaling it up will make it a easier print, at 100% there are thin walls, short extrusions lengths, minimal contact with the bed, but plenty of clearance. It’s important to have a good first layer height. I had to shorten my “minimum distance before retraction” to reduce the number of retractions on the first layer. No supports.

This is the twelfth version in a series gift boxes that may all look the same on the outside but they each have a secret way of opening. To open this one, turn the bow 90 degrees. Turning this rotates gears underneath which unlatch the top. A torsion spring keeping the lid from unlocking accidently.

Its roughly 100mm x 100m x 80mm tall. The top prints in place as one part, none of the parts require supports, designed for a .4mm nozzle. The bow and ribbons are printed separately and glued on. I printed all the parts in the orientation the stl’s are provided in. I prefer the vertical orientation for the ribbons for a smoother surface finish.  I added helper pads to them to keep them stable during printing. I printed everything at .2 layer heights but the box could definitely be printed at a larger layer height without issue.

Is it an ornament? Disco ball? Crystal ball? This 25cm diameter sphere prints in spiralized mode using only 220g of filament. That means you could print four of these giant spheres with a 1kg roll of filament!

Spiralized printing is great for translucent filament, and because it uses a relatively small amount of material for such a large object, don’t be afraid to use some of your specialty filaments to really make it pop!

For each sphere, you will need to print out two pieces. Be sure to use “spiralized” or “vase” mode and watch the first layer to be sure you have good bed adhesion. When in progress, this is a very delicate print. The ribbing on the outside of the sphere is there to provide some structural support but be careful not to bump it while is it printing!

Once printed, the pieces fit together loosely as in the video, so use a bit of glue if you want them held in place more securely. CA glues works well. Once glued, the sphere is surprisingly strong.

Here are some recommendations for spiralized printing:
- Use thick layer heights, 0.2mm or greater
- Set your “Bottom Layer” to 1
- Try using a skirt for bed adhesion, but if that is not working then try a brim. You will just have to remove the brim afterwards and that can be messy.
- If you get funny stringing on the top layer, try moving the z-seam alignment around

**Brick by Brick, Holiday Cheer!**

The Holiday season is getting longer every year, so it is beyond time to start decorating your home with festive 3D Prints! What better way to show off your Nerd-cred & decorate than a life size interlocking brick Christmas Wreath! Ok that name isn't catchy, how about “LEt'GO Holiday Wreath”, is that better? Yea, that is a better way to describe this Xmas decorating device. 

A friend requested me to print them one of these, and I wanted to tweak the designs I found online, so I started over from scratch. Some measurements were pulled from one design so I'm call this a “Remix” of the design on [Printables by Fuganater](https://www.printables.com/model/58424-giant-lego-wreath-no-supports-needed). 

Design has “Leaves” that interlock into each other to form the Wreath, and “Studs” that can be printed in whatever color you like to decorate it. All of these parts press fit onto each other tightly enough to not come apart accidentally but still be able to be disassembled easily. 

Assembled Wreath is approximately 10" (254mm) across. A larger version is coming soon. (Scaling can cause tolerance issues but you are welcome to do so as you see fit.)

**NOTE:** Proper tuning & extrusion accuracy is a requirement to produce a good fit. A Test print file is included to ensure you have good results before you start printing the full design. Print the Test Part & one of the “Studs” to check your fitment before diving into the full print!!
