ABOUT: Made a custom soldering base with a detachable piece of 23guage sheet metal (165mm x 114mm) held on by 10mm x 3mm magnets. I put some electrical tape around the perimeter or the sheet metal to help with grip and mainly to not cut anyone that uses it. I've tested this and it does not melt the base plate. Time will tell.
FEATURES: The large round 44mm hole fits 1 of 3 things. A tiner, flux paste, or electrical tape. The small hole is for a harbor freight brush for flux paste/resin. The square hole will hold your tips or heat shrink tubes. Fits a piece of 23guage sheet metal @ 165mm x 114mm.
**HARDWARE NEEDED: ** (1) 3mm x 12 bolt, washer, and nut. The nut is held in place on the bottom. (4) neodymium/rare earth magnets @ 10mm x 3mm. (Optional) Electrical black tape around the perimeter of the sheet metal for grip and protection.
**PRINTING SUGGESTIONS: ** I would use PETG, ASA, or ABS for heat resistance. It shouldn't take more than 40 mins or so to finish the print. I would do 10-15% Hex pattern infill. Supports are optional for the nut hole on the bottom. No brim is needed because of the large print surface.
DISCLOSURES: Shown with optional solder spool holder. No accessories included.
FINAL THOUGHTS: Maybe someone will find this useful. Cheers!
