At full size the magnet hole should accommodate a 40mm x 5 mm magnet, I used two 32mm magnets since that is what I had. They need strong magnets to hold them between the shelving. The magnets are embedded and you will need to add a pause to the Gcode to insert the magnets before the layer that closes the hole. These do not utilize glue and the magnets are inside the print.
I put the magnets on either side of my hand to ensure I put them, correctly, you could also stick them together and mark them with a sharpie. Whatever works best for you.
Printing recommendations:
- .10 to .20 layer height - Adaptive Layer Height is best
- 5% infill is enough, I would not go over 10%
- 3 walls for strength
- Supports are needed for the tail, I did not need supports for the head - you will need to verify that supports are not in the holes for the magnets. I had to paint supports so this would not happen.
- Pause gcode at the layer before the printer seals the magnet hole so that you can add the magnet(s).
- Make sure you have a clean plate and use your stickum of choice.
