Vehicle fitment: 2014-2018 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra with cubby in trim panel that surrounds the 4x4 and headlight switches.

Special considerations: This DOES NOT fit trucks that have the factory trailer brake controller instead of the cubby.

Recommended hardware to sell with printed part:

  • (1) 1/4-20 x 3/4 bolt
  • (1) 1/4-20 lock nut
  • (1) 1/4 flat washer

Recommended print settings:

  • ABS is preferred, but this part should do fine with other materials as well.
  • The "heavier-duty" your parts are, the happier your customers will probably be. I'd recommend printing as close to 100% infill as you're willing to go.
  • Supports help with this one. They are not necessary on the bolt hole, but are beneficial elsewhere.

Installation details to know: Some slight modification to the trim piece is necessary for installation. A 1/4" hole must be drilled in the back of the trim piece for the bolt that secures the switch panel in place.

Feel free to use the following instructions in your sale posts:

One hole is required to secure the switch panel to the trim piece. The hole must be aligned with the mounting hole in the back of the panel being installed. We recommend starting with a 1/4" bit and then expanding the hole to 5/16" to make it easier to drop the bolt through.

Once the hole is drilled, you can install the switches in the panel and then place the included bolt through the hole in the switch panel so the hex head is on the inside of the panel and the threads stick out the back (there is a hex shaped recess for the bolt head to fit in).

At this stage, you can attach your wires to the switches and run the wires through the existing hole in the back of the trim piece. If you're up for making further modifications to the trim piece, enlarging the hole you're fitting the wires through in the trim piece also makes this easier, but it is not required.

Once the bolt is through the drilled hole and wires are routed through the existing hole, carefully slide the washer and thread the nut onto the bolt. Be careful how you perform this step as you don't want the bolt to slip back into the cubby. That's it! You can now finish wiring up your switch panel.

Photos: Included when you download the print file for this model is a zip file with photos. There is at least one photo of the printed part installed and numerous photos showing any components and/or options the customer must have in their vehicle in order for the printed part to be compatible. It's helpful for customers to see photos of these components (consoles, cup holders, trim pieces, etc) so they can double check that it matches what they have in their vehicle. You are welcome to modify and/or use these images in your listings.
