Model originally uploaded to Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5239845.

When I tried the original model "for size" I found two issues - one, the filament path was off a few mm, two, my BMG all metal clone wouldn't fit because the filament guidance channel had no place to go (that black round thingy provided to screw a PTFE retainer in). I couldn't leave it off 'cause without it the PTFE would not have any guidance at all on the upper end, which is bad.

So here's my remix of asd913's remix adressing the issues. Changes to the original model:

  • made room for the filament guide
  • changed the form of the extruder back plate to allow full opening of the extruder lever
  • somewhat thinned the bottom plate
  • provided a cutout so that the stepper motor cable can insert from the bottom, for cleaner looks and better cable management

Prints nice without any supports when you orient the model as indicated by the arrow in the picture, a raft might be needed depending on just how good your printer is dialed in.

For future remixes of the remixed remix the .step file is included

Update: added a version with a trigger for my BTRemoteSwitch

Update: All New Models. Allowing for recent changes to the hotend environment there are now THREE distinct models, one each for the stock hotend, the Spider 3 Pro Hotend and the all new Spider Speedy hotend - all vary in nozzle position so the adapter allows for this relocation to assure the filament is fed into the hotend in a straight line (models are marked on the bottom to avoid confusion should you print more than one).

A bracket is modelled in for cable management, routing everything nicely to the back without the need for cable ties.

The model(s) is/are measured to work with the standard BMG extruder (and its various clones) - if you happen to have/want one of the all-metal clones, you may want to additionally print the all metal adapter plate since the all metal extruder is slightly narrower than the original plastic one.

The hole on the right front of all models is meant to have a M4 thread cut into it, I have installes a M4 flathead screw here as a trigger for my timelapse switch.

If you want to go "all in" and change your part cooling as well, check out my tailored hotend shroud: https://thangs.com/mythangs/file/367722
