Lens Filter Mounting Adapter for Canon PowerShot S90 Digital Camera

This is an adapter that I designed to attach photographic filters to a Canon Powershot S90 Digital Camera.

The adapter tube is designed to have some adhesive backed craft foam fitted to the inside so it friction fits over the front control ring on the camera. The bracket then slides over and mounts to the bottom of the camera via the tripod screw hole. The bracket also integrated an arca compatible tripod plate.

The design allows the whole adapter barrel to twist and operate the control ring.

The barrel is designed to allow a 49mm filter or stepup ring to cut its own threads into the plastic. I did need to shave the inside a bit with a hobby knife and warm the plastic a little bit with a flame to get the threads to cut in easier.

For the tripod screw, I just salvaged one from an old crappy tripod's mounting plate.

I designed this specifically for my use case of mounting the only Infrared filter I had which is 67mm to this camera which does not have any threads for a filter. I designed it to fit the 49-67mm step up ring I already had. You could remix this model to fit whatever step up ring you have or need.
