An easy to print universal spool holder. The little teeth prevent the parts from moving during the print. The parts snap in every other millimeter for maximum flexibility. It can hold spools with a width up to 90 mm.
With this bearing solution you can prevent the metal in your extruder from degrading due to friction from the bad angle that a top-mounted spool feeds in. Furthermore, this solution is way more stable thus leading to less vibration.
I had problems with different 3d-printed spool holders. They were either too complicated or not reliable. Therefore, I designed this universal holder that can handle every spool I have come across so far.
Instructions:
- Buy 4 pieces of 608 zz ball bearings (they are cheap and available everywhere)
- Print the two parts
- Press the bearings onto the 3d printed parts (with a little force)
- Adjust the width by lifting up the smaller part a little β to keep the teeth from snatching in while moving.
