The Inspiration
The "Skull King" was born out of a desire to create something more sinister than your typical candy bowl, inspired by the "Widened Skull Candy Bowl." I wanted a design that was a little more edgy and fantastical. What started as a journey to make functional 3D models evolved into something much more creative. I taught myself how to craft organic-looking designs using MeshMixer, a tool I’ve come to appreciate despite its learning curve.
MeshMixer: More Than Meets the Eye
When I first tried MeshMixer in 2018, I thought it was limited. After diving deeper, I realized just how powerful it is. Most tutorials focus on basics, like combining models, but that’s one of the least impressive things it can do. MeshMixer's capabilities are what keep me tied to Windows instead of moving to Linux full-time, which says a lot about its importance for my 3D work. Eventually, I plan to release advanced YouTube guides to showcase what this software can truly achieve.
The Skull King Series
From this journey came the "Undead Skull King" series. I'm excited to bring more designs to life, but I recently had a setback when a freak accident wiped out all my printer configs and profiles. I’m slowly rebuilding and will release more models soon. In the meantime, feel free to reach out if you have any requests or feedback!
