Print-In-Place Snowball Mold

  • Print-in-place, support-free design for making Snowballs!
  • Fairly quick print (3 hrs). You need to be able to handle relatively tight clearances (0.30mm).
  • If there is interest I will consider creating molds for more shapes!

Printing Info **These are just the settings I used to test the model, feel free to use whatever settings work best for you.

FDM or Resin: FDM Scaling: Can be scaled up. Scaling down may be fine to a certain degree, but will definitely cause issues with the print-in-place elemtents. Supports: None Infill/Perimeters: 10-15% infill + 2 wall loops Nozzle Size: 0.4 Layer Height: 0.2 Print Time: Approx 3 hours 4 mins (Bambu X1C) Filament Usage: Approx 83 grams (Bambu X1C)

Printing Notes

  1. No Supports Needed. Print the model in the orientation that it imports in.

  2. No assembly needed

  3. The tightest clearance on the model is 0.3 mm. As long as your printer can handle that clearance (which is should), everything should fit together well and move freely.

  4. If you wish for things to be tighter or looser, trying adjusting XY Contour Compensation (setting in BambuSlicer, may be called something differeint in other slicers) to -0.10 (to make looser) or +0.10 (to make tighter).

  5. The hinge is meant to be nice and tight so any slop doesn't prevent the model from closing properly.
