Fillet / Radius Measuring Set

Made for creators who value precision, these fillet keys are designed to give you an accurate radius measurement within 1mm, eliminating guesswork and facilitating efficient design. If you are between two sizes fitting a corner, you can start with the halfway point and be extremely close within seconds - often close enough to avoid repeat fitment tests on a rounded corner! Both edges are usable so you can measure concave and convex radius corners with ease!
What's unique about these keys is that they are made to print in place with an elbow joint, allowing users to angle them into tight corners and navigate hard-to-reach areas better than with flat or rigid tools. Ideal for achieving rapid and accurate fitment on a rounded corner, these fillet keys are a must-have tool in your design toolbox!
Dimensions:
- 1mm key: 38 x 12 x 3 mm (~1.5 x 0.5 x 0.2 in)
- 30mm key: 76 x 46 x 3 mm (~3 x 1.8 x 0.2 in)
Weight: ~47g + 3g waste for full set
Additional Items: Easiest to manage on a key ring or ballchain.
Fillet / Radius Measuring Set In mechanical engineering, a fillet (pronounced "fill it") is a rounding of an interior or exterior corner of a part. Fillet geometry, when on an interior corner is a line of concave function, whereas a fillet on an exterior corner is a line of convex function. Fillets commonly appear on welded, soldered, or brazed joints but are useful in many other applications like 3d printed designs! Why use fillets? To improve your designs!
- Stress concentration is a problem for load-bearing mechanical parts which is reduced by employing fillets on points and lines of expected high stress. Fillets distribute the stress over a broader area and effectively make the parts more durable and capable of bearing larger loads.
- For considerations in aerodynamics, fillets are employed to reduce interference drag where aircraft components such as wings, struts, and other surfaces meet one another.
- Radii are used to eliminate sharp edges that can be easily damaged or cause injury when handling the part.
PRINTING:
- Clean your build plate! "Flat" models like this are more likely to shrink and peel up.
- For best results, print with text facing up. Total material is around 50g with only ~2g of waste!
- Print with at least 5 bottom & top shell layers, 2-3 walls, 10-20% infill
- Use the 3mf file to print all at once and have colors ready to go for both PLA+ and PETG!
