A sturdy drink coaster with a traditional Japanese pattern. Large enough for most drink ware. Patterns are cut 3mm deep to accommodate condensation from drink glasses quite well.

Dimensions: ∅92mm x 5 mm thick (~3.6 x .2 in)

Kagome / Basketweave The Kagome pattern is a traditional Japanese design element inspired by the symmetrical pattern of interlaced triangles found in Kagome baskets. These baskets, characterized by corner-sharing triangles that form hexagons, have been woven in Japan for centuries. This pattern is said to protect from demons and bad luck!

PRINTING:

  • For best results, print one at a time or "by object" instead of "by layer"
  • Clean your build plate! "Flat" models like this are more likely to shrink and peel up.
  • Print from either side. I prefer design face down on a nice textured plate like the cryo plate
  • Print with at least 5 bottom & top shell layers, 2-3 walls, 0-20% infill
  • For fuzzy outer rim (using 3mf file):
    • make sure to set fuzzy > countour/outside walls @ ~0.1mm point distance & thickness
    • set modifier > fuzzy > none (necessary to avoid entire pattern printed with fuzzy skin)
