Frank the Frog. He will keep you from losing your pen! Instead of a string this design used an emotional attachment to keep you from misplacing your pen. Frank will be deeply sad if you don’t bring back his property!

The Design does not require a specific pen, the maximum diameter is 12 mm. To get a special frank pen with the flower, you will need a BIC crystal pen, the most common pen in the entire world. I personally recommend BIC fine which has a smother line than the normal ones.

Single and multi-color printing models are included as STL and 3MF! They work with all current and usual multi color setups.

I carefully optimized the design so that the assembly is super easy. The long and detailed instructions below contain everything step-by-step. Pease also reference the assembly video and photos!

Printing

• The Pen holder leans towards the left side, if you want it pointing to the right, mirror all parts in your slicer before printing.
• Single-color version only: Glue on the Eyes and refection points, pay attention to the direction or Frank will get funny side eyes, which also looks cute. Assemble the flower by glueing all three parts together.

Before you start

• The long end of all three shafts go towards the front.
• The little notches on the shafts are all in the center between the gears.
• Only one gear has a direction, it has it written on it.
• The two smaller gears are identical.
• Everything is friction fit and does not require glue.
• During the assembly the rotation does not matter since you place the mouth at the end.
• Check the images and videos for visual help.

Assembly

• Place the front facing down.
• Place a small gear on the longest shaft from the longer side. Insert it into the mouth hole from the back with the long side.
• Place the other small gear onto the shortest shaft from the short side. Place the normal big gear on the other side. Insert it into the, on the left-hand side of the front so the big gear interlocks with the small one on the longest shaft.
• Place the gear with the integrated stopper onto the big shaft from the short side with the written “Back” pointing outwards. Place it in the remaining hole in the front and check that the gear interlocks with the small gear on the shortest shaft. The written “Back” has to still be readable now.
• Place the two connectors in their hole
• Add the back onto the assembly
• Place the penholder onto the back
• Place the mouth on the front and align it so Frank is sad when the penholder is in its upright stage.
• Place the BIC pen core into the new pen hull. Add the flower on top.
• Place frank on his lily pad and you are done!

Maintenance: If the smile is not aligned anymore, you can always simply rotate the mount a bit. To maintain the gear box there is a cut at the bottom to get it open easily.
