Description

A 3d scanned rock wall shelf with a face that is only visible from a certain angle.

The shelf comes in two sizes with a holder each. There is an extra holder included that you can scale up if you want to print it bigger. You can either screw or glue the holder onto your wall. There are various glue or tape products for wall fixation out there. I used 3M Tape. Old fashioned screws and dowels are the most reliable fixation. The screw holes have a diameter of 5.5 mm

Awesome design, simple to print, I watched the first layer adherence at normal speed, then set to sport mode (124% of normal print speed) to try and introduce natural rock anomalies. The mounting bracket cutout printed nicely, even with no support underneath that fairly large section.

Overture Fossil PLA is perfect for this. I had to rotate it and print it ‘top down’ to make the striations run correctly, but that added minimal supports.
