Always looking out for you, this is the guardian you need on your side. Have an entire conversation with your subconscious through body wiggles and perfectly timed blinks.
Inspired by the shoulder pets often seen at Medieval fairs that can move their heads a bit. My version should crank up the mobility and bring out some personality. The eye moves in its socket before the other vertebrae start to move. 🙄
[BILL OF MATERIALS]
(1) Average rubberband cut in two ~1" segments (2) <0.5" M2.5 or 4-40 bolts (6') Fishing line, Floss or String Hot glue or other adhesive
[ASSEMBLY] Glue a segment of rubber band on the inside of the eyelids near the hinge keeping them closed.
Glue string on the inside of the eyelids near the center rear. These strings will go into one set of holes in the special eye socket vertebrae.
Feed string through the eyeball holes, you should have 4 lengths, glue or knot in place.
Take the eyeball and press into the special eye socket vertebrae which has extra holes in it. Align the eyelid hinge holes with one set of holes in the eye socket and screw in place. Feed the blink control lines through the other set of holes and out the bottom of the vertebrae.
Assemble the body one vertebrae at a time feeding the control lines through their designated holes and into the base and underarm strap following the guide blocks.
Fit the straps to your arm size, for thicker bodyparts the taught control lines will maintain the grip, the straps don't need to be connected.
With your buddy attached to you pull out the slack and knot to keep the puppet straight and taut. Allow the eyes to be closed.
Your buddy should be pointing straight at the sky, eye closed and firmly attached to you. Several loose strings dangling from beautiful knots underneath your arm. Feed one of those dangling control line's slack through a nugget to give yourself something to grip.
You should have 3 nuggets in center position; Left/Right, Up/Down, and Blink.
With your arms crossed, moving the nuggets in either direction will animate your buddy. pulling the blink control line will cause the eyelids to open completely.
