The FAN ART Model Great Paint Off
After a ton of planning and coordination, we are ready to launch our first FAN ART model painting competition! (Yay!)
But first, we would like to give a special thanks to you, as, after all, thanks to your fantastic fellowship and support, and that of the other members of this wonderful community, this printing obsession is possible. So, THANK YOU!!!
Now, let us explain what the FAN ART category is about: This category includes anything related to characters from movies, anime, series, video games, comics, etc. For example, it includes Mario Bros, Pokemon, Evangelion, Sonic the Hedgehog, Overwatch, League of Legends, and anything else you can find on Printed Obessesion’s page on Thangs 3D!
So, get your paints & painting station prepped, calibrate your 3D printer, warm your painting hand, and (most importantly) choose your favorite Printed Obsession FAN ART models.
Select your desired PO STL file and get the printing started!
The painting contest opens on June 1st and closes on July 1st This means you’ll have 30 days to submit your entries.
These amazing pro painters, 3D printers, and 3D model designers will judge your work: Don Suratos Fotis Mint Jonathan Levi — How to participate: To participate, you’ll only have to do 4 things:
- Paint and then Post your painted models to Instagram.
- Follow our collaborators on Instagram. (see the “Collaborators Follow Requirements” section below).
- Follow the Instagram Post Requirements (detailed below). Send your pics & info to comp@mousejeweller.co.uk, following these specifications:

— General Rules:
- You can paint and submit any of Printed Obsession’s models found on Thangs 3D.
- Minis must be printed at a maximum of 120% of its original size (20% increase) or less.
- All models - obviously - must be painted by yourself; otherwise, you will be disqualified.
- You can submit multiple entries to the contest—as many as you can paint.
- You are allowed to make busts out of models, but they can’t be modified or kitbashed either digitally or physically in any other way.
- Bases/dioramas can be customized but won't be decisive to win. You can't include content from other Patreons or creators (only by yourself or PO).
- Photos can't be edited by any kind of software or be post-processed.
- You can do minor tweaks like saturation, levels, etc., to convert the .raw format file.
- You can't overpaint or edit certain parts of the picture to fix mistakes.
— Submission Requirements Submitted Pictures Specification Requirements
- The final photos must be attached to the email in .jpg (jpeg), max size: 2 MB.
- Photo quality counts, so make sure to capture your minis’ “good side”.
- Send at least 3 photos from different angles.
- We recommend using gray background to facilitate the evaluation.
- Low-quality photos will make evaluation very difficult, so deficient-quality images or those that don't meet the requirements will not be evaluated.

— Terms & Conditions
- The prize details, delivery, and specs are as follows:
- If any of our collaborators do not ship to your country, we will claim it for you and send it via mail, and we will cover shipping costs.
- Printed Obsession’s past-release complete model sets will be chosen from our MyMiniFactory Official Store and delivered as pre-supported STL format files.
- To claim your prizes, some personal info will be requested. This includes: full name, address & personal email address.
- To claim some prizes, you will be asked to create an account on their respective site/platform.
- Cash payments are not possible; thus, physical prizes will be delivered to your private address, and digital prizes will be sent via DropBox.
- The painting contest is open internationally.
- Winners will be notified via Instagram DM and email.
- We will announce the winners in a public winner-announcement post using their Instagram account handles.
- Winners might be asked to send pictures of themselves with the physical prizes after they are delivered, as requested by some of our collaborators. These pics will not be publicly posted by Printed Obsession.
- By participating in this painting competition, you agree to these terms and conditions.
