Model originally uploaded to Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5425263.

This is a walking stick holder for a Rollator/Walker. It was designed for a 3-wheel Rollator branded "Days", but it may fit others. This was designed to suit the following measurements:

  • Rollator tube diameter 22mm OR 24mm (bottom part) and 19.1mm (top part)
  • Stick diameter 23mm

The commercially available versions will only work with vertical tubes. However, with this version you can adjust the orientation of the lower "cup" part in increments of 90, 45 or 22.5 degrees, so it will suit models with horizontal, vertical or even sloping tubes.

What to print:

  • For 22mm lower tubes, print: cup, cup_clamp_p1_22mm and cup_clamp_p2_22mm
  • For 24mm lower tubes, print: cup, cup_clamp_p1_24mm and cup_clamp_p2_24mm
  • For the stick holder, print: stick_clamp_p1_v2 and stick_clamp_p2_v2

Hardware required:

  • 4x M4 x 14mm Socket Head Cap Screws
  • 4x M4 Nuts
  • 1x M6 x 12mm Socket Head Cap Screw
  • 1x M6 Nut

Stainless Steel screws and nuts are preferable for outdoor use.

Note: the original design in the photographs above used cheap heat set inserts. I found these were unreliable as they tend to pull out under tension. The new design uses M4 nuts which people are more likely to have and work a whole lot better in this application!

UPDATED 14/07/22: made several major updates to these models:

  • Replaced all models with versions suitable for M4 nuts and removed the original version which used heat set inserts (as those proved unreliable)
  • Added a version of the lower mount suitable for 22mm tubing
  • Made the stick holder clamp 1mm thinner and widened the opening by 2mm to make it a bit more flexible and easier to insert/remove the stick
  • Increased the clearance between the two halves of the clamp to 2mm (provides a bit more tolerance for undersized tubing)

There are some other designs on Thingiverse, which may be useful if you need to mix-and-match parts to suit your model:
