Printing Guidelines

General

  • PETG is the recommended filament type.

  • Bed adhesion is key to a successful print, and using a brim on certain parts can help with this. Some printers allow you to reduce the speed after the print has started, which can be easier than adjusting the speed for different layers. However, this still depends on the type of filament you're using.

  • Although not required, applying a sealant to any modules that will be in contact with water can help extend their lifespan.

Backing

  1. Place top-side down without supports, ensuring the connection flap is at the top. (For reinforced strength on the flap, print at a 45° angle.)

  2. Set the outer brim to a width of 20 mm. (A brim-object gap of 0.13 mm may be used to minimize the need for deburring, but it could reduce bed adhesion.)

Grid

  1. Set flat on the bed without brim or supports.

  2. Set the desired top layer pattern; ironing is not required.

Base / Leg

  1. Place flat-side down without supports.

  2. Set the outer brim to a width of 20 mm. (A brim-object gap of 0.13 mm may be used to minimize the need for deburring, but it could reduce bed adhesion.)

Drip-Watering Topper

  1. Place the topper with the drip-hole facing the bed.

  2. Set wall loops to 3.

  3. Set top shell layers to 3.

  4. Set bottom shell layers to 5.

  5. Enable tree support (organic).

    1. Set support branch angle to 45°.

    2. Set top Z distance to 0.25 mm.

    3. Set base pattern to hollow.

    4. Set top interface layers to 3.

    5. Set top interface spacing to 0.7 mm.

Stake Clip

  1. Place the flat side on the bed without supports or brim.

  2. Adjust the wall loops and infill based on the strength required for the chosen filament.

Modularity

Get creative with different module combinations to build your own unique vertical extension. While this project is still evolving, future updates will always keep parts compatible—and your feedback is always welcome.

Happy growing!
