This is a fun small folding pocket knife that can be functional and useful despite being 100% 3d printable. I have provided 3 blade designs each with varying blade geometry for you to select depending on how you want to use the knife. Using a strong material (ABS for example) for the blade can significantly improve its durability.

My intended use for the knife is opening boxes (i.e. cutting box tape) and blade A is quite effective at that. Blade A has a double-sided 45-degree edge so relatively dull. Blade B is sharper but with that sharpness comes decreased durability. Blade B has a single 45-degree edge. Cutting slower (to minimize heat generated from friction) will allow that sharper B blade to survive longer. And, lastly, Blade C is a single-sided 33-degree edge and as a result, it is the sharpest and least durable of the three. It is quite good for cutting thin films (such as plastic) and paper (off of a roll for example).

The design is 100% printable, snap together, and includes a print-in-place compliant spring incorporated on one side of the handle which provides a detent for the blade in the closed and the opened positions - no hardware, fasteners, or adhesives required. No support is required.

Free for a limited time. Please collect it, like it and download it now to help support me in the league competitions. Thank you.

Print Settings:

Material = I recommend ABS for the blades and any material such as PLA or ABS for the handle. Nozzle = 0.4mm Layer height = 0.2mm Line width = 0.4mm Wall count = 4 (1.6mm) Top and Bottom Layer Count = 5 Infill = 40% Cubic Ironing = Not required Brim = No Support = No

Commercial Licensing is available through my logicalplanet Memberships here on Thangs. I will customize and provide commercial support to members on request.
