I bought a couple of 80s vintage Robotech Zentradi action figures made by Matchbox. They're 10cm tall, which puts them right at about 1:100 scale, so I can mix them with various 1:100 scale Macross toys.
The loose figures I got did not come with their weapons, and looking at the boxed versions, didn't come with anything close to matching what they carried in the cartoon. Note, these are the "micronized" Zentradi (regular sized would be too big and out of scale). This doesn't explain why they're wearing full size Zentradi armor, but whatever.
Note: The height discrepancy between the Valkryie and Zentradi soldier isn't a mistake. According to official sources, common Zentradi infantry were about 10 meters tall, compared to 12.7 meters for the Valkyrie in Battroid mode. Britai was a Command Type, and much taller. The animation from the TV show played a bit fast and loose with the scale, but the movie version does a better job.
