Description Make your own scroll saw sanding strips! I found them to be too pricy for how prone they are to breaking. Read the printing and assembly instructions bellow to minimize troubleshooting and get to sanding!
Printing instructions - Material: I printed these out of ABS, In my tests I've found that the sand paper itself is much weaker than the plastic, so you can probably get away with using PLA. - Print settings: I increased the wall loops to 10 to cover the whole interior, essentially doing 100% infill, but stronger. Enable regular support and use a brim if needed. - Print orientation: I i tried printing it in both directions (Link set vertically and Link laid flat). I think both options are similarly strong (I will edit this if I learn anything during use), so set it in whatever direction you think your printer will best handle. - Hotend: I used a stainless steel 0.2mm nozzle, but you can use 0.4
Assembly instructions - Cut the sandpaper into ~6.5cm strips - Cut the strips to length (for my 16 inch scroll saw, I cut the strips to 3.75" in length (sorry for metric and imperial (sorry not sorry))) - Apply superglue to the edge of the sandpaper strip and insert it into the printed hook. wait for it to set or spray quickdry solution. - Repeat for other side
- Ball out on da sander
