XYZ cubes can be boring - but this little Mood Mate can help you calibrate and test your printer too! And you can select your mood afterwards. When printet multiple times, you can even stack them at your desk as small companions. Enjoy!

Overview This little space astronaut helps you calibrate your printer! There are small details and sharp corners, circular areas and of course the XYZ letters on his space suit. And then of course the print-in-place mechanism that lets you change his face/mood afterwards as a reward for a succesful print!

For now there are 2 versions with 4 faces each! Just print and rotate at the bottom to change mood. (When printet nicely, it’s almost fidgety..!) The moods are well known for everyone with a 3D printer.

Emotions The models include the following faces: Faces 1 Happy - "I just did a nice print!" (male) In love - "I just love my new printer!" Sad - "What is wrong with all that stringing..." Angry - "That's it - no more printing today with all those mistakes!.." Faces 2 Playfull/winking - "That was a fun print - let's do another one!" Paralyzed- "I simply cant find the problem with this printer... I should get a Prusa!.." #notsponsored ;-) Happy - "Awesome print!" (female) Confused - "What's up with poor bed adhession? Maybe another buildplate?" Which emotions are missing? - let me know in the comments!

Print instructions This should be printet with your main print profile to test it out. Here are a few tips

  • Speed on first layer: 50% (or less) (To ensure good bed adhesion take your time here!)
  • Perimeters: 1 - nothing more is needed
  • Infill: 0% - cuts down print time.
  • Supports: NO supports - that would prevent you from spinning the faces afterwards.
  • Nozzle: Should work with 0.4 and 0.6 mm - havent got a 0.8 to test. If the internal part seems stuck when taken of the buildplate, try to twist it back and forth until it breaks free - potentially with a small pair of pliers. It might also be because of bad accuracy on the printer. In that case you can scale the model up - this should make it easier to print it succesfully.

I hope you'll enjoy this model and share your finished prints as makes! And if anyone with MMU or other multimaterial setups does one in multiple colors - I would love to see it!!

Happy printing!
