Spiral Spinner - Desk Fidget Toy by FerraroArts
byferraroartsnyInspired by fidget spinners, I had the idea to make this screw-like fidget toy that is fun to just flip upside down and let gravity spin the star around in a circle! The top of one end is magnetic, which allows for you to take it on and off as you please. The magnet holes are 10mm x 2.3mm. I plan on updating this file with more attachments in the future, so stay tuned for that. (Upon downloading this file, you'll receive all future updates to it for free!)
3D PRINTING SETTINGS: I suggest printing this at as small of a layer height as you can for enhanced spinning smoothness potential!
I slowed down the overhang printing speeds to achieve as smooth of a surface as I could get.
I also suggest printing the star at 100% infill to ensure it has the weight to spin quickly and smoothly. Printing the base at a higher infill will also make sure that it doesn't topple over when it gets flipped over, but isn't entirely necessary for the function of this toy.
Silk filaments seem to work better than matte filaments as they are generally more slippery.
