Spiral Vase (Vase No. 2)

This spiral vase was designed specifically for spiral vase mode. 

It prints quickly with just one outer wall and no support. 

I suggest using a large nozzle, line width, and layer height. I also suggest printing in spiral vase mode with 4 bottom layers and only 1 outer wall.

Nautilus Shell Cross Section

This cross-section model of a nautilus shell demonstrates one of the nicest natural examples of a logarithmic spiral.

Print as oriented to get nice, crisp lines on the inner chambers. Raise the model off the build plate 3mm or so and generate tree supports underneath to support the contoured bottom surface.


Double Twist Vase (Vase No. 5)

Here is another vase model but this time with a double twist.

It is specifically designed to be printed in spiral vase mode, printing with one continuous outer wall, to print quickly, without a seam and no support.

I suggest using a large nozzle, line width, and layer height. I also suggest printing in spiral vase mode with 4 bottom layers and only 1 outer wall.

Some simple seashells based modelled from the common Turritellid seashell.

The small spiral has six logarithmic revolutions; the large spiral has ten logarithmic revolutions.

Print as oriented with the larger end down. Raise the model off the build plate about 3mm and generate tree supports underneath. It is best to print at least two at a time for best results.
