Sometimes, inspiration strikes in the most unexpected places. In this case, it came in the form of a raft – the kind used for 3D printing, not the kind for leisurely floating down a river. Peeling the lattice from a table bracket, I couldn't help but see a double-sided spade – a peculiar image that sparked a memory of a magazine I browsed while waiting at the doctor's. "This seemingly random form," I thought, "possesses a strange fluidity. What could I create from it?" The answer, my friends, was this lamp.
All model parts were printed on a Creality CR-10 mini printer. The finished lamp size is 28 inches high (including finial) and 5 3/4" diameter (minus shade). The lamp shade, harp, cord, and socket were purchased.
