The standard mount base for the Nimble. This adapter should be the basis of any adapter for the Nimble. It holds all the shapes that will lock the Nimble to the hot end, ensuring concentricity and positioning are spot on.

When using the basic adapter or a variant of it, make sure you install the PTFE tube correctly. Most hot ends have a PTFE tube at least partway into the hot end. The adapter has a 3 mm hole in the center. This is for the PTFE tube. It is too small on purpose. This allows you to drill it up to the correct size for your PTFE tube. We have seen a bit of variation in diameters of tubing so decided to leave it up to you to get the final sizing correct. Drill the hole to the diameter of your PTFE tube and then proceed. Look at the image and follow the steps. Step 1. Mount the hot end with a long enough piece of PTFE so that it sticks out above the adapter. Step 2. Slide the tube up through the adapter. Step 3. After you have mounted the hot end and just before you mount the Nimble, slice off the tube flush with the top of the adapter. Result. You now have the perfect length of PTFE tubing in your hot end. By mounting the Nimble you also lock the tube into place.

Edit 1: The model is updated.
The hole for the PTFE tubing is slightly changed as well. It now is 3.5 mm and has a keyhole shape that will allow you to push the PTFE lock collar on the V6 down, without full disassembly. Use a thin pin, insert it in the smaller part of the hole to push the lock collar on the V6 down. You can now pull out the PTFE tube.

Edit 2: We replaced the Basic adapter with a more simple shape. This shape is shown to be just as accurate in locking in the position of the Nimble. Included are many formats so you can find the one to use in your CAD package.

The Nimble Extruder With an installed weight of less than 27 grams on your carriage/effector the Zesty Nimble is smallest and lighest extruder you can buy, it has ample torque and is installable in multiple orientations.
