Manage your Galileo 2 Cables SECURELY!

Recently I installed the Galileo 2 Extruder assembly on my Voron 2.4, but I had an issue mounting my CAN Umbilical cable. The files for the G2E include a PG7 mount, but it mounts behind the Extruder Motor. On a Voron 2.4 this means it hits the Z-Cable Chain & in my case, my Umbilical Mount on the rear Gantry. It seems to be made for Tridents with the cable going through the vent opening only. So I made this mount! It mounts to the left of the Extruder motor and provides a clean back that has no interference issues with the existing Voron Design V2.4 parts.

Files include 2 versions of both a PG7 mount and a M12x1.25mm Mount. One version is standard design, the other has a slot so you don't have to feed your umbilical cable through the mount. I needed this so I could easily swap my cable setup without having to rewire my entire CAN cable & resleeve it. The “Split” versions use a single M3x12 screw to add some rigidity to the opening after you install your wire & cable gland.

This design also uses a 20mm spacer design (the HartK one used 17mm), which should allow just enough room to fit a wire or two between the motor & the mount. I've included a 20mm printable standoff, but I really recommend aluminum stand-offs, easily available on Amazon and from Hobby Shops (common in RC stuff).

NOTE: As this mounts to the motor mounting screws, and the Galileo 2 has a "floating" motor design, this MAY cause some tensioning issues if your umbilical does not have enough slack. Be mindful of how much tension is on your umbilical cable when assembling! I haven't had any issues yet, but I could see it being a problem if the cable is pulling tightly.
