Meet the life cycle of the 3D Printed Butterfly! She starts out as an adorable articulated caterpillar where she makes her home, a cocoon. As she matures, she turns into a beautiful little butterfly. The caterpillar body articulates, as does the butterfly body. The wings should slip into the slots on the back of the butterfly body, with a little glue, to make them permanent. Mystic Saige did the stunning cocoon, and base for the butterfly and they turned out absolutely wonderful! We had a lot of fun doing this collaboration with Mystic Saige, and we hope to do more soon!

We printed everything but the butterfly wings with .2 layer height, no supports, no raft/brim, and 10% gyroid infill. The only change we made on the wings was a finer layer height (.16). The caterpillar was scaled down to 70% with no issues. We do not recommend scaling the butterfly, as it will make the wings even more fragile, and might make assembly much more difficult. The base and the cocoon will be removed from the post at the end of June.

To sell any of these files, we ask that you subscribe to whom ever made the designs (butterfly and caterpillar by us, cocoon and base by Mystic Saige). If you would like to sell the cocoon and base, you can find Mystic Saige at the link below!
