Number 05 in a series of chamfered form vases. This one features a vertical arch cutaway.
Each vase in this series features a smooth outer body with 'cutaways' that reveal a ribbed inner body. They can be used as vases either dry by themselves or wet with a 30mm x 165mm glass test tube insert. Reminiscent of NES cartridges when printed in gray. They also have a bit of a space-milk-jug vibe.
I was inspired to make these as I was chamfering a block of cheese (for snack engineering purposes).

Printing Recommendations
-
Print upright -- best if the top surface is oriented with the hole towards the front of the bed. 5mm+ Brim
-
Layer Height: 0.2mm
-
Wall Loops: 3
-
Top/Bottom surface: Monotonic
-
Top/Bottom shell layers: 5
-
Top/Bottom shell thickness: 1mm
-
It is important for the outer finish that the bottom 5 layers then just transition into the top 5 layers at the bottom of the tube hole. You may get banding if you reduce either of these. The thick bottom helps provide a nice feeling piece as well.
-
Sparse infill density: 5%
-
Sparse infill pattern: Gyroid
-
Brim: 8mm
-
Brim Gap: 0.1
-
The bottom shell is fairly thick, so tends to lift more than you might expect.
