3D MODEL DESCRIPTION This design includes the standard cube and sphere gear fidget spinners.
Also includes mini keychain versions for mobile fidgeting.
Using a bevelled helical gear the designs spins indefinitely, see example here -
Other designs listed separately are the companion cube from the game portal and the skeletal cube, both sold separately.
Easy and fast to build with no additional parts needed, 100% 3D printed.
Inspired from the beautiful desktop design by Tommy Guimond (see here for his incredible creation i saw on TikTok https://www.machinesproduction.fr/article/le-cube-articule-de-tommy-qui-epate-le-public ) My original concept I tried to replicate his incredible design as accurately as possible but instead opted for an easier fully 3D printed centre.
3D PRINTING SETTINGS Simply download and extract the zip.
To print you need 4x of piece 1 & 4x of piece 2 - also print 1x middle section and the centre pins (split recommended as no supports are needed.
For the keychain you need the additional piece labelled keychain.
For the highest print quality, print in the supplied orientation with standard supports - on build plate only.
Gyroid recommended infill with standard 0.42 walls x2.
Once you have printed and removed any supports simply glue the centre pins into the middle section and then the the middle sections to for a ball.
Then simply push click the pieces onto the pins of the ball noting the piece orientation (so each corner is mirrored) very simple and can easily be removed and changed if you place in an incorrect position so no need to worry if you build incorrectly the first time, its easy to change and fix.
The spin gets easier with more rotations, but if you want the gears to spin extra easily you can either add some oil to the middle section or print the middle section at 99% scale or slightly less.
Have fun and let me know how they go or if you encounter any problems )
