3D_Maze_Puzzle_Box

This is an updated version of my original Maze Puzzle box. This one works better and makes it impossible to cheat when close to the end of the maze.

This is an STL file with the parts set side-by-side, ready to 3D print!

This print-in-place fidget toy inspired by the Chinese Puzzle Ball is a great way to show off your multicolour or transition filament!

Models shown are printed in two varieties of Sovol PLA Silk Magic, the “Blue & Yellow & Fuchsia” and “Acid Blue & Orange.”

Select the “loose” or “tight” version depending on how tightly you want the spheres rotating within each other. 

To print, you will need to ensure that each separate sphere is properly supported. Tree supports work well, especially if you raise the object off the build plate 3mm or so. 

There is a small cylindrical plug inside the innermost ball. This is to stop the supports from generating inside the innermost ball. It can simply be removed with the supports.

**_Printing Guidelines_**

- _Grid.stl_ : Your usual print settings should work fine. I used 15% infill, 5 top layers, 0.2mm layer height. Optionally, swap filament above 1.2mm to make the grid stand out.
- _Skewbits A-D_ : 2-3 perimeters, 0.16mm layer height. No supports. Proper extrusion is important to ensure the print-in-place hinges are sturdy without fusing together (Clearance is 0.3mm). Use the colors indicated by the filenames if you want to match the solution guide. **Prints right side up.**
- _Grid_TPUgrip.stl_ -  Optional grip for the bottom of the grid. Print solid using [Ninjaflex TPU](https://bit.ly/ninjaFLEX)(Also on [Amazon](https://amzn.to/45IhDt9)) or similar. Glue in place using [E6000 adhesive](https://amzn.to/3FrgcV9), etc.
- _Grid_LaserGrip.svg_ : Optional grip for the bottom of the grid. Designed for lasercutting. I used 3mm cork. Watch [my video](https://youtu.be/j_jYnhOX49g) for details.

This puzzle is part of the family of different “6-Piece Burr Puzzle” configurations. This is a “Level 1” design because one piece needs to be moved (“unlocked”) before you can begin to disassemble the puzzle. Taking it apart is tricky, but putting it back together is much harder!
