The Bunny Pen Holder - Animal Farm of Horrors

Hey folks!

Update 25.08.25 The Optic Nerve had a bit too high tolerance which could cause the joints to disconnect depending on your settings. I added a new version - Optic_Nerve_lower_tolerance.stl which addresses this issue.

Say hello to The Bunny - His functional part is a Pen Holder! When not used you can close his eye with his lose optic nerve ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ This is probably the most files I ever had in a single project so I need to explain myself ๐Ÿ˜… Please read the instructions and explanations below.

  • The Bunny has 3mf pre-colored versions and an almost full multipart version - Excluding teeth.
  • Multipart bunny versions end with Multipart.
  • The Multipart versions also have 3mf versions because the teeth are not multipart so I included pre-colored files.
  • Although there are 16 (!!) bunny files - The bunny has just 2 variations - A full ear and a bone ear.

Why so many files??

When I was done designing and print testing I realized I can get slightly better results if I tilt the bunny to prevent support requirements in the face area - This is why each version has a TILTED_ version as well. The TILTED version requires less supports and in areas that are not seen - Back of the ears and back of the front paws. It also uses slightly less poop with AMS.

But this is a preference thing and each version has it's cons and pros in terms of supports scaring so check the comparison photo to see the differences - Your support settings will obviously make the most difference in both cases.

I also recommend printing the Multipart versions simply to avoid waste - Unless you are printing multiple pieces together which will reduce the waste significantly.

Assembly & Printing:

Tilted versions requires printing the Tail.stl and gluing it separately. All bunny versions require supports, as mentioned tilted version will require less and will leave less scaring. All other do not require supports. Articulated eye parts: Optic_Nerve -> Optic_Nerve_Eye -> Optic_Nerve_Pupil Big eye parts: Big_Eye -> Big_Eye_Pupil Blood_Drop is optional and just an additional small touch Some glue is required to connect parts together - sums up to 2 minutes work.

I will be taking a small break from the next animals to focus on Halloween designs which will start dropping soon!

Is there a file for the teeth to print as a part?

Which filament from which manufacturer did you use? The one with the color gradient.

The optic nerve doesn't stay together at the joints I used your settings it falls apart

Thatโ€™s very strange I printed it multiple times. You mean the joints fall apart? All of them?

II don't know what to tell you i've been printing for about 11 years now is all I know to tell you and this is doing it all three prints on two different printers Exact same problem. I don't get it I mean I can send you pictures do you want pictures do you want a video you send me a place I can send you that and I will do that for you. So far I'm wasting filament over and over and over. I'm not being mean I'm just trying to get to the bottom of this I run a business also

No worries - Iโ€™ll upload a version with lower tolerance later today that should fix it

I do like your prints because it's completely different than other people That's what made me join

OK I mean I could show the picture It looks like it's not completed around joints of the optic nerve 'cause they just come out they do not stay together at all

J C

Tell me where to send pictures

Yes you want pictures

You are correct - I checked an indeed when pulling hard the nerve disconnected at one spot. I added a new part - Optic_Nerve_lower_tolerance.stl as the name suggests it has a lower tolerance on the joints, I test printed it now and I was unable to take it apart so this version should work well. Let me know if it works for you as well. Thanks
