i made this so i can turn the ratchet wheel one way (clockwise) to tighten and the other way (counterclockwise) to turn the wheel back to ready it to turn and tighten again without having to readjust my finger grip on the turning wheel. there are two ratcheting mechanisms. one to tighten and one to turn back to adjust to tighten again.

the rod is placed vertically with ratcheting side down. the rod does need supports near the bottom. if your splicer wants to add supports up the rod middle you can just remove them as they are not needed. and this is how i printed mine.

the frame has a flat area on it for placing on the bed so it needs no supports. your splicer might want some added but are not necessary.

the wheel is placed flat obviously. no supports needed.
