2000 VT Commodore SS 17" Rim Plastic Trim Piece
With Holden no longer producing cars, genuine examples of these plastic trim pieces are impossible to found nowadays. As such, I decided to model them myself to suit SS rims for a 1997-2000 VT Commodore.
THE SURFACE FINISH IS NOT MODELLED INTO THE STL FILE As such you will have to use slicer settings to achieve the textured surface finish. I printed these with Prusa Slicer using the fuzzy skin setting on outside walls only with the skin thickness and point distance both set to 0.3mm at a layer height of 0.2mm and a nozzle size of 0.4mm.
It is best to print this model standing upright, using support material, as the layer lines are hidden by the textured finish.
It is likely you will have to make adjustments to the shape of the piece, as the dimensions of each rim differ from car to car. To remedy this, the OnShape file can be accessed below (free): https://cad.onshape.com/documents/025cf28c540b5b747b12ba32/w/f897a78f21396ef1c37fb9eb/e/c2a3836c27c24a38bdfb7d51?renderMode=0&uiState=66c02e6334656f4869f841d9
