Dyson V12 Filter Cleaner
Clean filters do not provide better suction power of a vacuum cleaner, but equally extend the life of the filters. Therefore, it is essential that the filters from the Dyson vacuum cleaners are cleaned regularly.
Unfortunately, cleaning the filters of a Dyson vacuum cleaner is not always straightforward and is very inconvenient. By chance, I found on social media a pratic helper that simplifies the cleaning of Dyson filters in a two-step process. Thus, on the one hand, the upper part of the filter is cleaned by another vacuum cleaner, where against the lower part can be correctly rinsed by water. Unfortunately, I could not find a finished design and the ones that seemed to be somewhat usable were incompatible or probably incorrectly dimensioned. Therefore, I decided to take basic once measure and have me a corresponding helper self-designed.
I use the helper for my Dyson V12 and its filter, whether and to what extent this is compatible with other V models with similar filters, I cannot say. However, I would imagine that these are not very different from each other. The upper part has a 34 mm opening and can therefore be connected to any standard vacuum cleaner. The faucet connector is designed to fit 24 mm aerators and has some play to allow it to cover small variations of aerators.
So that the two parts are not pointlessly flying around or one part is lost, I have also created a connector, which allows a compact and loss-free storage of both parts. Since I keep my vacuum cleaner in a PAX cabinet from IKEA, I also designed a matching holder. I can provide the STL file created for it on request.
Otherwise, I wish a lot of fun and always proper vacuum when vacuuming!
