I'm Simona, mechanical engineer who swapped gears for vases and planters. I design 3D models of house decor items - cute but useful (at least I try). Engineering may have been my first love, but designing stylish home pieces is my true passion. Welcome

HVEZDA turning self-watering planter

A new design of the popular turning planter. This innovative self-watering planter combines modern design with practical functionality. The planter uses a cotton rope system to adsorb water from a hidden reservoir. This water mechanism allows extended periods between waterings, perfect for busy individuals and travelers!

Follow me on instagram for more https://www.instagram.com/simonauhrova3d/ I am excited to see your prints!

The original turning planter:

Use ANY COTTON ROPE UP TO 6 mm diameter and place it according to the pictures provided.

Dimensions: length 173 mm, width 120 mm, height 140 mm

You can scale the model (remember to scale both parts in the same percentage), but more significant scaling might result in too tight of too loose turning mechanism, as the clearance is designed for 100 percent scale.

To get the rough surface look, apply fuzzy skin (slicer functionality) on the outside surfaces only. The parameters for fuzzy skin that I used were 0.4 mm thickness and 0.4 mm point distance. When applying the fuzzy skin on the bottom part, it is the best to apply a modifier that disables the fuzzy skin on the thread in the middle, but should work eighter way.

To avoid leaking, print the bottom part with at least 3-4 perimeters and 3 top and 3 bottom full layers.

Print with no supports.
