The UPS is a winged guidance kit that converts existing unguided 1000 lb MK83 and 500 lb MK82 general purpose bombs into long-range air-to-ground smart ammunition. Thus, existing bombs gain precise strike capability when dropped from a distance over 100 km in all weather conditions. This allows the aircraft to complete their missions safely without approaching dangerous zones.
