This is another Hueforge Hybrid print, where Cloud's Buster Sword ‘pops out’ of the print for a little personality. This print combines Hueforge filament painting methods with traditional 3D printing to create a lovely pop art style print.

Important Note: This print has very steep overhangs with no supports for a majority of the sword, and tree supports for the tip. If you are using the 3MF for one click printing for on Bambu Slicer, all settings will have been applied to the model that slows the printing right down to accommodate this, with extra top, bottom and reinforced wall settings.

If the one-click printing is not your thing, please see the instructions and recommendations below.

Print instructions

If you are NOT using the one-click file:

  1. Please ensure your settings for the ‘Buster_Sword.stl’ part of the print has been optimised for steep overhangs.
  2. I highly recommend slowing down the print and increasing top and bottom surfaces, as well as having more walls.
  3. I used 4 walls, with 6 top and 6 bottom surfaces, with an infill of 15% gyroid for the sword.
  4. Tree supports should also be used for the tip of the sword, with the supports ‘On the build plate only’.
  5. Adjust your support interface settings so that they can be easily pulled off the print and not damage the surface of the sword.

I used 4 filaments for this print, with one colour repeated for the silver highlights on Cloud, and the silver for the sword.

Print at 100% infill with a layer height of 0.08mm with a base layer of 0.2mm for the Cloud part of the print. For the Buster Sword, print at 15% infill.

Filaments Used:

  • PLA Kingroon Black Transmission Distance: 0.4

  • PLA Sunlu Beige Transmission Distance: 8.2

  • PLA Kingroon White Transmission Distance: 8

  • PLA Polymaker Starlight Mercury Transmission Distance: 6 (

Swap Instructions:

  • Start with Black

  • At 1mm swap to Starlight Mercury

  • At 1.32mm swap to Beige

  • At 1.8mm swap to White

  • At 2.12mm swap to Starlight Mercury (This is the sword!)

The Buster Sword STL can be found here, a model by ohman74.

Hope you have fun with this one! It's a personal favourite!
