The Social Cell - Smartphone Jail Cell, Phone Storage
byThinAir3DThe Social Cell: A jail cell for smartphones and other small things. This design prints in 3 pieces, (Building, Door, and Key), and requires zero support. The door features a built-in, compliant mechanism for the lock and is only opened by the key. I have included 2 different versions of the building: One with a bed typical of what you would see in a jail cell, and one that is empty inside. I would consider the one with the bed a semi-challenging print because the "ropes" will require your printer to be reasonably dialed in.
Printing Info: **These are just the settings I used to test the model, feel free to use whatever settings work best for you.
- FDM or Resin: FDM
- Scaling: You may encounter issues with the locking mechanism if the design is scaled down too much.
- Supports: None
- Infill/Perimeters: I just used 10% infill with 2 perimeters, but I would use extra perimeters for more strength.
- Nozzle Size: 0.4
- Layer Height: 0.2
All pieces print with no supports needed and are already oriented the way they are meant to be printed. Choose and print which building you want (with or without the bed), then print a door and key. The lock is already built into the door and the door just slides into place on the buildilng. Press it all the way in to activate the lock, and use printed key to unlock it.
