Video link https://youtu.be/sExf2oqd13Y video incudes demo and theory on this spectrometer from my edutainment channel "The Hungary Microbiologist"

This is a spectrometer that uses 1 your phone as a light source: 2 color filters: (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0771LTPFN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1,) 3 and an an Ellegoo super kit IF YOU USE A WIRE NOT A SWITCH THE KIT HAS NO SWITCHES (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D8KOZF4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) parts actually used and code here (https://www.tinkercad.com/things/inKaZFWLrGx-spectromemter) to create a great scientific instrument for home/lab use or for demonstration

the phone I used was a Samsung galaxy S10+ if your phone is larger than this you will need to re size the phone holder, if you don't have a way to do this with out messing up the screw holes here is a link to the tinker cad so you can mess with it yourself https://www.tinkercad.com/things/fbE1btmqDMZ-powerful-jarv-jaiks

What to print 1 main body 1 cover 4 feet 1 phone holder 4 screws

How to assemble

1 take the main body and position your phone so that the light aligns with the pin hole 2 secure the phone holder so that it covers the phone but you can still insert and remove the phone when needed ( I used super glue and baking soda so I could get my phone back faster 3 secure the feet to the main body (I used 2 part epoxy because I IDK I just have it on hand) and the feet to a base of some kind (I use flooring tiles because they are 50 cents at lows and nicely weighted) 4 The photo resistor gets secured in the hole in the cover 5 follow the diagram on tinker cad for the electronics, make sure to have long wires on the photo resistor allowing the cover to still go into place https://www.tinkercad.com/things/inKaZFWLrGx-spectromemter

How to use 1 align your phone so the flashlight shines through the pinhole then secure it with the screws (don't damage your screen) 2 cut the necessary filter to fit inside the cover 3 while the blanking wire/switch is open place a blank in the spectrometer close the cover making sure it slides into the reassess in the main body and then close the wire 4 remove the blank and place sample in the same way 5 press the button, your absorbance will be calculated for you and displayed
