Lampshades are 3D printed with Protopasta's Bottle Brown, Cobalt Blue, and Soda Green Translucent HTPLA filaments available at http://www.protopasta.com. For sturdy, but still translucent shades, we recommend the following settings:
extrusion width: 0.9 mm layer height: 0.4 mm speed: 20 mm/s
We print with no slowdowns using spiralize (vase) mode for a continuous extrusion with no start/stop defects.
The base can be printed with typical settings like:
extrusion width: 0.42-0.63 mm layer height: 0.15-0.25 mm speed: 20-30 mm/s 2-3 walls 4+ top/bottom and infill for support
We recommend printing upside down.

We used a standard LED bulb. Be careful not to select a hot bulb that melts that plastic. Consider a dimmable bulb to adjust the light level to your preference.
