15-20% Infill
.2mm layer height
Supports needed for the hat and optional for the beard
 

Hair-i-fied beard Settings:

The beard is print ready
Make sure your printers bridging settings are dialed in
There are many guides that can be found online for this.

Hair-i-fied beard Assembly:

Use a box cutter, x-acto blade, scissors, or flush cutting shears to separate the wall from the hair
Trim hairs if wanted
Use a hair dryer or heat gun (3-6 inches away) to melt the hair down
When melting the hair keep the hair dryer or heat gun moving (use circular motions or sweeping motions) so you don’t deform the print
Take breaks and let the parts cool for a few seconds before manipulating the hair
Have FUN!
 

Assembly:

Print all parts
Stack beard onto the body
Slide nose onto the beard
Slide the hat over the beard
 

 

Some sanding and gluing maybe necessary due to tolerances

Protopasta Protognome - Flexi Gnome by CM Designs

In celebrating coffee, Corey Marchetti of CM Designs curated a very special design for our fellow coffee connoisseurs.

This beautiful pour over station has a place to tuck your Hario V60 Paper Cone Filters (or similar) and is height adjustable, with a twist of each leg, to fit your favorite <7” tall cup. The filter-holding pour over cone can be 3D printed or purchased.

No supports needed, Corey printed these models with 0.2 mm layer height and 15-20% infill. This is an assembly. Part details are as follows:

-Feet (Screws and Bases) (~20g PLA) - Print 3 screws upright, with a brim, and at a slow speed to reduce wobble. Print 3 bases.
-Legs (~55g PLA) - Print 3 legs upright with a brim.
-Top (~75g PLA) - Print top with the threads facing upwards away from the build plate. Compatible with Printed Pour Over Cone or Hario V60 Ceramic Coffee Pour Over Cone.
-Printed Pour Over Cone (~85g PLA) - Print with the thread towards the build plate and the cone flaring upwards away from the build plate.

Screws pop in to bases to make feet. Feet screw in to legs. Legs screw in to top. Screw pour over cone, printed or purchased, into top and insert filter. Place cup underneath and adjust height. Add coffee grounds, pour over with hot water, and enjoy!

Corey selected Protopasta Double Espresso Brown (DEB) for the legs, Moonstruck White (MSW) for the top, and What Karat? Smooth Gold (SMG) for the feet. What classy colors! Reminiscent of both wood and coffee, DEB is a rich metallic brown with gold pearl for texture. MSW has a soft luster reminiscent of porcelain, while SMG has a smooth and shiny metal-like look.

With Protopasta there are so many pastabilities to make this design your own when 3D printing. Instead of DEB, choose Matte Fiber for more wood-like legs, or choose a metal composite for feet to add weight and finish with a polish or patina. How about your favorite team colors or some enthusiastic glitter to make your stand unique?

Print solid 100% infill using standard PLA setting with Proto-pasta Stainless Steel PLA.  Afterwards, sand flat and polish for a shiny metal sample! Spools designed to be printed with 50g of material or less per side and hold the Proto-pasta Endless Pastabilities subscription filament samples nicely while printing. Spools are designed to hold both the 50g and 100g 1.75mm filament samples. The spools have a solid edge for edge rolling systems and a 50mm center for mounting on most spindle based spool holders

 This copper pumpkin is a remix of a 3D scanned pumpkin model from 3DWP. We added a solid base in TinkerCad for easier printing.

Inner cylinder has a 53mm OD and is designed to fit 53mm Protopasta spool side openings. Outer cylinder is 205 OD and designed to fit 203mm Protopasta spool side edge. For both, I recommend printing in spiral (vase) mode with a 1mm extrusion width, 0.2mm layer thickness, and 20mm/s speed. I printed these in HTPLA at 205C with a 0.4mm nozzle.
