Ambiguous Cylinder // Circle to Square *Updated*
This remarkable shape looks like two completely different objects from two distinct perspectives. With a mirror, you can see both perspectives simultaneously. Truly mind-blowing!
An updated version of my old ambiguous cylinder model, based on the original by Kokichi Sugihara. I printed it using MatterHackers Quantum PLA to achieve the amazing color changing effect! This new version includes a stand that makes the cylinder appear to hover, plus the square is pointier than my first version. Points for pointiness!
I had success printing at 0.12mm layer height. Smaller layer height should significantly improve the top surface.
2 shells, 0% infill, 6 top and bottom layers.
There are also two versions of the base, and two lengths of printable rods for the base. You can also use any 1/8" rods and perhaps some E6000 adhesive to secure them into place.
There's also the 'circle2square' version which has the square rotated 45˚ from the original
