Folding Scalpel Pocket Knife v2.1 - Nice little print on my A1mini - took around 40 minutes and came out pretty nice and fully functional. Blade insertion was tough but worked with a little force. Did some minor deburring on the edges. Holds an #24 blade wothout effort. So far one of the best functional print-in-place models since I started 3D printing almost a decade ago... Good work! BTW: What a crappy pictureshow and lightbox here at thangs :( - 3d model

2024-07-26 Update: This is now version 2.1 of this knife which now has improved geometry to help keep the blade closed and or opened as well as a detent on the closed side to minimize the chances of it partially opening in your pocket.

This folding scalpel handle is stronger and stiffer and can accommodate all #4 scalpel handle blades (up to 60mm in total length). I have tested it with #18, #20, #21, #22, #23, #24 and SwitchBack blades.

The pivot utilizes an offset radii design allowing it to print easily and still rotate tight in the open and closed positions. Check it out!

100% printed - no hardware, fasteners, or adhesives required. No support required

Print Settings:

I have tested this design on multiple printers using PETG, ABS+ and PLA. Print settings can vary significantly between users so please note my settings and let me know if you are having difficulty. I am committed to helping everyone get great print results to the extent I can so please contact me if you are having issues.

Nozzle = 0.4mm Layer height = 0.2mm Line width = 0.4mm Wall count = 4 (1.6mm) Infill = 40% Ironing = ON

I also now have an XL version of this knife specifically for the very large #60 scalpel blades. I do not recommend using the XL knife with anything other than the #60 blade. https://than.gs/m/1110703
