Entry for #HalloWearables #HalloWearable contest:

Ever dreamed of having your movement restrained by clumsy chains and a prisoner ball that resembles a pumpkin? If yes, please go see a doctor. But also, it is your lucky day!

The “Chained Ghost” costume was inspired by the short story of the Canterville ghost, written by Oscar Wilde. It features:

Full customizability: you can download the original .f3d (fusion 360) file and customize both the chain and the manacles as you wish. Want the chain smaller? Thicker? Longer? Are the manacles too wide for your wrist? Just change the settings and create your own, unique costume. • Unscrewable-multi-purpose-ball-pumpkin-thing (OPTIONAL): you can use chain junctions to add a pumpkin, that can in turn be filled up with candies, lodge a candle or simply be a decorative item. • In case you want to customize the chain, it will automatically adapt to you print bed: just write down the available length of your print surface (the variable is named “BedLenght”) and rings will be added/removed in order to use up all the available space. • Both the main chain section and the B-variant of the manacles are Print-in-place (Pip). • The costume is just too fashionable. End of story.

STL, f3d and documentation download HERE

The costume is composed of:

  • Chain: the main part of the costume.
  • Chain junctions: two chain halves that can be glued or screwed together.
  • Manacles, available in two variants:

A): old-style manacle. Requires two screws (models included)

B): fancy. Can be printed in two pieces and fixed with an M3x35 screw or be printed in place (Pip).

  • Pumpkin: requires a lot of material but adds the final touch to the build. Can be unscrewed and filled with whatever you want.

MANDATORY MATERIALS:

  • Superglue (Loctite worked for me) (~10$)
  • PLA/PETG Plastic (to print everything)

OPTIONAL MATERIALS:

  • M2.5x10 & M3x35 Screw (if you have different dimensions, fear not, as the only two components requiring screws (chain junctions and manacles) have a glued and a Print in place variant respectively.)
