A good friend of mine that I race with regularly on my track mentioned to me if he had a couple hundred dollars to spare he would like to get a slot car dyno. (He knew exactly what he was doing by saying that to me, planting the seed!) I figured this would be handy to have for the modification I am doing on Carrera 1/24 car to allow adjusting the gear ratios. After some research to see if I could get software for a dyno, I came across Simpledyno software. It is no longer supported but work perfectly for my needs and it is free. In the program you can enter the information about what will be on the dyno and it calculates the weight of the roller for the inertia dyno to be accurate.
