Bigtreetech TFT35 V3 Case / Hole Cover for Sidewinder X1 (Ender 5 Plus, CR-10s PRO Remix available)
byJiMakerModel originally uploaded to Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4153427.
- 5/14/20: Re-uploaded TFT35_BottomNew.stl as well as IPT and STEP file with an inset for the M2.5 screw to fit flush with the case. Originally uploaded the wrong file, sorry! Makes for a much more streamlined / finished look
- For the Ender 5 Plus / CR-10S PRO 3dprintbeginner.com made an awesome remix to use this case on these machines which can be found here. Thanks for sharing!
- Modified the base to add a TFT35 v3 to my Lulzbot Taz 5 for my SKR 1.4 upgrade. May even work for other 2020 extrusion based 3d printer frames. You can find that over here
Fit a TFT35 to your Sidewinder X1 without having to perform surgery or permanent modifications to the machine! Print 4 pieces, one to cover the hole and provide a surface to secure the bottom piece using M3 screws and nuts, the bottom piece that allows the IDC cables to poke out a little bit and be snaked through/allows clearance for the bed/leveling knob, then the top piece and knob side riser. They screw together with M2.5 screws directly into the plastic. Also note that in order to still be able to use Marlin mode you'll have to order or assemble slightly longer IDC cables for EXP1 and EXP2, as they will not reach to where the mainboard is mounted (at least with the SKR 1.3, idk about the layout of other boards). This required much printing and prototyping, if you found good use for my work and wanna help me recoup some of my filament costs consider hitting that donate button ;)
Required Materials- 2x M2.5 x 16mm Hex Socket Cap Screws
- 2x M2.5 x 12mm Hex Socket Cap Screws
- 2x M3 x 10-16mm Machine Screws
- 2x M3 Nuts
For the Marlin Mode cables to reach:
- 1x or 2x Longer 10-pin female-female IDC Cables (I didn't want to stuff long ass cables in there so I cut 10-wire ribbon cable to length and crimped the IDC connectors myself using this crimper/connector kit and this wire
- 1x TFT35_Bottom.stl
- 1x TFT35Case_Top.stl
- 1x TopKnobSide.stl
- 1x SWX1_Hole.stl (For covering hole and mounting on Sidewinder X-1 v4)
- Had a bit of an oversight and originally uploaded older design files without the flush mounted M2.5 screws, uploaded new TFT35_BottomNew.stl as well as ipt and step file. Makes for a much more streamlined / finished look
- By request, added more easily modifiable source files including original inventor assembly and part files as well as STEP format to allow for adapting to different printers or older revisions of the X1. If you modify for your printer, please post the remix to help other users!
