The Robo Baller
The RoboBaller is a fully printable mechanical variation of the robotic basketball sculpture I designed for the youtube video linked below. The arm mimics that of an actual basketball shot using a unique linkage design paired with a compound gear train. The files include the STLs for the shooting arm as well as the basketball net. Print one or many and throw down a game of horse, or see if you can make some trick shots!
The video below shows how easily this mechanism can be assembled!
The STL File: Prints on all standard 3d printers without supports, and doesn't require any additional parts to be assembled.
Designed for these balls: https://amzn.to/43Qb5c3 But there is a secondary scoop option so it can shoot standard ping pong balls.
Recommended print settings:
Layer Height: 0.2mm Nozzle: 0.4mm Infill: 15-18%
Total Filament Required: ~400g
Minimum Build Plate Required: 185mmx185mm
**All the files have been pre-oriented to save you some set up time! All you need to do is drop the parts into your slicer and hit print!
