update

I created a version of this lid that is 100% exact size for the Ender 5 electronics case and gives 10mm extra internal space. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4774618

With this remix I changed the left half in the following manners;

  • the fan size; 120 mm (based on the 120mm version by hmsq82)
  • removed the hexagonal pattern grate, just kept a circular hole.
  • moved the fan holes 1.5 cm toward the mainboard,
  • added a little guard for the PSU fan to not disrupt the airflow. The PSU has same airflow it always had, the 120 mm fan will not get disrupted by the airflow of the PSU fan. ( I don't know if it really is that bad, but it is what I always been taught; a fan should always only turn under their own power, never forced in any way )
  • added a small gap for the fan wires to go through.
  • rebuilt the plate; 3mm less high so it fits inside the box, instead of on the rim, for a more secure mounting.
  • screw holes are now all 3.3 mm so an M3 bolt can go through without threading.
  • created a new fan guard, so the fan can be mounted outside and still suck air in while being protected

The fan guard is specially crafted for 0.2 layer height, 0.4 nozzle. it will print diagonal lines top left to bottom right on the odd layers and top right to bottom left on the even layers (or vice versa). This saves time and filament.

The right half has the following changes;

  • the full bar top to bottom is reduced to 3 blocks to connect to the left part. The bar would create stiffness, but 2.3mm of plastic is stiff enough and now there is room for airflow to the PSU.

*1) [as annotated in the photo] The versioning the photo is an older revision in which I found the PSU-fan-flow-break to be too high and the fan too far to the viewers right. I corrected the model but did not bother printing it. In case I want to change more, at least I did not waste 100g of filament and 6 hours time ;)
