Discovering the Colors Behind My 3D Printed Designs

I've received numerous inquiries about the vibrant and varied colors that define my 3D printed creations. I'm excited to share the spectrum of filaments that breathe life into my designs. In the world of my creations, where color significantly shapes product aesthetics, selecting the perfect hues is as crucial as the design itself.

Inspired by the retro Americana of the '50s and '60s—where kitsch reigned supreme with its jello salads, Kewpie dolls, and heart-shaped tubs—I find that pastels perfectly enhance this nostalgic aesthetic. Pastels embody softness and subtlety, offering just the right touch of gentle color to complement the playful kitsch of that era.

Here’s a glimpse into the filament colors I use and how they integrate into my designs:

1. Classic White

White provides a timeless, clean, and sleek appearance. It's ideal for emphasizing the detailed craftsmanship of my designs, particularly in lamp models where light needs to permeate. I prefer a warm white, reminiscent of cream or bone, rather than a stark, cold white.

2. All Shades of Pink

Inherently kitsch, pink captures the essence of over-the-top Valentine’s Day themes.

3. Radiant Red

Red commands attention—it's bold and vibrant, perfect for channeling the kitsch of '50s Valentine’s Day decor and the iconic maraschino cherries atop vintage cakes.

4. Lime Green

Nothing screams retro '60s and 70s like lime or mossy green. It's a striking complement to the pinks in my designs, offering a fresh visual twist.

5. Peach

Peach acts as a softer alternative to pink. It also pairs wonderfully with lime green.
